Breeding School!

Welcome to the Breeding School! This is where Islanders enroll in a Breeding Program and redistribute their bred Pokémon with other students. Please read this and have the best time in Breeding School!

What's this?

This is basically a trading board with a few differences. The first and more important one is that you are going to work on breeding for a specific species entirely for the purpose of participating in the Breeding School (which means you are breeding that baby for everyone participating, you included, of course). The basic idea is the following: Every month, starting the first Friday of every month, you are going to work on breeding for a specific pokémon that you previously chose to breed, and you have the a full month to come back with a competitively-viable baby. That baby is going to be cloned (by you or with the help of any of the people that can clone) and traded away for every other baby conceived that month by a member of the Breeding School.

How is it going to work?

Simple. On a first come, first serve basis, for each breeding month, you are going to post in this thread information on the baby you are going to breed. Example:

Once you do that I'll update the first post with your information, and the information of the baby you are breeding. Once a specific species is chosen, for the entire month no one else may breed the same Pokémon for the members of the Breeding House. The first person to reserve a Pokémon is the one that Pokémon will be entitled to. The main goal of this program is to encourage you to work hard, for a month, on a single species, knowing that by doing so you will have access to everyone else's recipients. That means that by focusing on breeding a godly Sneasel and succesfully doing so, you are getting dozens of other babies, all ready to be EV trained for your battling purposes. Instead of working on all six Pokémon for your team you are being offered the possibility to work hard on only one, but you'll have a selection of at least 20 more babies (hopefully, if this proves to be as popular as I believe) to choose from.

Why is this better than simply breeding on my own/trading with other members?

You are going to be the proud owner of a baby created specifically for the Breeding School. You are not getting a pokémon that everybody already owns a copy of (Jibaku's Jirachi, Plust's Chansey, for example). Of course, everyone else in the program will also have the baby, but you have the comfort of knowing the baby was bred during that month, the comfort that someone worked hard on it, just like you did. Only a select group of people will have access to each other pokémon. Wondering if that godly Kyogre you just traded a nicely bred pokémon for is legit? You won't have that kind of problem here. You are getting lvl1 babies with the right Nature, IVs, Egg Moves, etc., and you'll be able to check that the egg was received and hatched during the breeding month. You are being part of a legitimate program instead of simply offering your prospects blindly throughout the trading boards. It also eases trading as by checking this thread and this thread only you are able to see what you are getting, when you are getting, from who you are getting, etc. All in the same place.

Rules

1) Choosing your Baby

- You have to just say you want to join, get accepted, then pick the IVs and baby, I'll check it, then add it.

2) Competitive Pokémon Only

- Once you choose a species, keep in mind that it has to have the right nature, the right ability if it matters (Sand Veil Gligar, Poison Heal Shroomish, etc), as well as the right IVs where they matter (perfect 31s in the highly relevant stats like Speed/HP for magic numbers, Atk/Sp.atk for sweepers, Defense/Sp.def for walls, etc.). Every other stat that is important but secondary must be greater than 20. Useless stats (Speed on Relaxed Bronzor, Sp. Atk on Sneasel, etc) are not important, obviously. For information on what nature/moves are required for the pokémon you are breeding, look into the Smogon D/P Analyses subforums.

3) Pokémon YOU Bred in the Breeding School may be redistributed.

- You bred an EXTREMELY awesome pokemon, so why not redistribute it?Makes sense.

4) Assembling the clones is your responsibility

- There are various cloning shops around. If you can't clone your baby yourself, it's fine to ask other cloners.

5) All Babies MUST be Lv1 and Untrained

- Again to maximize the legality and credibility of the pokémon in the program, the babies must be at lvl1 and must have no EVs. This adds uniformity to the pokémon being traded and makes it easier to ensure everything is working just fine.

- Exceptions: Babies bred in Emerald, of course, are Lv5, so that's ok. Also if anyone uses the Rare Candy + Soft-Reset method, it's ok that the baby has a few levels, but *please* specifiy that once you come back with the finished baby.

6) Participants Reserve the Right to have a Copy of your Baby

- Even if you don't want/need the Timid Togepi I bred, if I want your Adamant Larvitar and we both brought those to school, we are trading. By enrolling in the Breeding School, you are closing a deal with each and every one of us, and must act accordingly.

7) Bad Members will be Blacklisted

- I am serious with this program, and to ensure that I'll expell anyone who refuses to follow the rules. If you trade away a Pokémon from the program, refuse to trade your 31/31/31/31/31/31 baby with other members because it's too good a baby, or if any other similar issues arise, you will be prohibited from participating in every other installment and your name will be blacklisted in the first post.

Okay, Sugar, you can't be registered until you get your Nature decided. And remember, the Pokémon has to be a Riolu.

I'm gonna breed shroomish, Breloom with poison heal is deadly. Im not going to include any egg moves.

This is supposed to be the new "Charm the Dragonite." It looks very difficult to me, so I'll try my best. I was planning on going after the Mixed Sweeper type, that's why the Neutral Nature is there. Haze is to stop sweepers for setting up like Garchomp, Weavile, Alakazam (HP Ice), Salemence, and Feraligatr (who would otherwise counter Dragonite) boasting Dragon and Sword Dances and Calm Mind. So, hope I get it right!

Hey Jon, I have a docile ditto with 30's in atk def and sp atk (docile is neutral so its good for yo d-nite)

Cool, Cuboner. If you can find the time to trade and donate the Ditto, I can see if I can find a cloner and clone it for you. Or I'll try my hand at GTS Cloning Anyway, PM me when you're ready.

I've decided that the riolu doesn't really need sp.def.(But like Jon said,a little special defense can't hurt!)

I need to set my priorities straight....Im now breeding that phanpy for you (my ds ran outta battery when i had one with often doses off ) but Im nearly finished with both breloom and phanpy

If you want to, you can hold off on the hold off on the Phanpy and finish breeding the Breloom. Don't worry, I can wait.

so...im new to the whole breeding IV pokemon.

but from what i read, we are breeding powerful pokemon just to give them away?
what stops us from not posting our extreamly powerful ones?
im so confused...it seems like we are doing all this work for nothing.

No Jon, i have put off that phanpy way too long...I think I siad id finish it by December 4th...wow that was a month ago...I want it done soon...I have a good breeding fodder shroomish x/31/x/x/x/31 all the Ivs are in the 20's except def is a 0 lol
